Crouching statue of Chai-hapiReplica Size: 38 x 16.5 x 20 cm
Replica: artificial stone
Egyptian, New Kingdom, 2nd half of the 19th Dynasty, ca. 1250-1200 B.C.
The high official and priest Chai-hapi is crouching with drawn up legs on a pillow. In front of him he holds the emblem of the goddess Hathor: a stylized sistrum bearing Hathor's face. His titles written on the figure tell us that he worked at the temple district of Heliopolis. There this statue was located originally.
