Feather shield with coyotemagnet Size: dm 5.5 cm
Of the total of four pre-Hispanic feathered shields that are preserved at present, this spendlid specimen can be found in the collection of the Weltmuseum Wien. It is believed that the shield had been sent by Hernán Cortés in 1522 and reached Ambras and later Vienna, through the Bishop of Palencia and one of his successors, as well as King Ferdinand I.
