chasuble

This soft cushion features a striking artwork of the collection from the Imperial Treasury Vienna - the very decorative Flower ornaments from the chasuble of the „Coat-Dress“ Vestments. The basic fabric of this chasuble is said to be a coat, which Franz I Stephan, later Emperor, wore 1736 on the occasion of his marriage with Archduchess Maria Theresa. The glamorous silk coat with embroidered flowers was later, in the 2nd quarter of the 18. century, adapted for the liturgical vestment.
