The statue is called "The Apollo of Transylvania", after the place where it was found. Stylistic it derived from a Greek sculpture of the 5th century B.C. Apollo is depicted as the god of healing and the leader of the Muses. Therefore he once once probably held a laurel trunk and a branch in his hands.
