The cat, a symbol of the Goddess Bastet, sits in a pose typical for such votive figurines. The fur is indicated by means of chiselled indentations, the eyes, through quartz inlays. Around its neck the cat carries a ritual accessory known as an Aegis, and on its brow it bears a scarab.
