Knight’s Helmet
Kids’ Armour Size: up to 56 cm head circumference plastic With this helmet all kids become real knights! Inspired by originals from the 14th century, just like the ones which are on display at the Imperial Armoury. Contrary to the heavy originals these helmets are made from light plastic and are lovely decorated.
The pot helm is a very heavy helmet, which limited the wearer's head mobility and the vision so that the knights put them on at the last moment. A flexible curtain, so-called aventail, was attached to the helmets in the 14th century and became state of the art then.
The so-called Hounskull helm is a variety from the 14th century and is named after the special form of the visor, which was drawn out into a conical point like a muzzle or a beak.
