Wautier - Flower Garland with a Dragonfly

Handmade tray printed with a detail from the painting "Flower Garland with a Dragonfly" (1652) by Michaelina Wautier (c. 1614/18–1689).
The garlands are suspended from blue ribbons in the upper corners. The way she links the ephemeral splendour of the flowers to the vanitas motif represented by the classical bucranium (ox skull) motif is entirely unique and offers a further illustration of her exceptional originality and erudition.
